Single page, typed correspondence on The State Historical Society of Wisconsin letterhead. It is addressed "September 7, 1937, My dear Mr. Heller" and talks about a copy of a book they are sending Heller with information about Thomas Commuck and John W. Quinney's speech on July 4, 1854 in Reedsville, New York. It is also sending him the numbers for the Wisconsin Magazine of History that have information on Hon. William A. Titus. It invites Heller to a meeting where he will receive a copy of Joseph Schafer's volume The Winnebago-Horicon Basin. This volume and this letter talk about the discrepancies between Schafer's finding of who came to Wisconsin first (Stockbridge or Brothertown) and De Loss Love's finding that Brothertown was first. It is signed Joseph Schafer.Collection
