Scope and Content

Single sheet of paper folded in half to create four pages of correspondence. The first page has a red border along the top and a blue border down the right edge. There is also a stamped seal in the top left corner of the first page that went through to the top right corner of the last page (so two stamps in the middle of the unfolded single sheet along the top edge). The seal is a "Union and Constitution" seal with an eagle on top and a flag below in an oval shape with a pointed bottom. There are two leaved branches along the bottom of the flag. The letter is addressed to "Novem the 13 1861. Camp Griffin Virginia, Dear Friend Charlota Keevil" from L. Johnson (grandson of a Fowler).
