Scope and Content

Single sheet of paper folded in half to create four pages of correspondence. The first page is addressed "March the 10th of /63, Camp Dennison Ohio, Dear Sir" and signed "Direct your letters to Mr. George A Durvehie/Duruchie, Camp Denison Ohio, 10th Division, 46th Ward". The letter lists the prisoners taken from his company. It appears the receiver and a fellow soldier were once in the same company as this man and he misses them. He ends by saying "Excuse my bad writing. Their is a great many Olds in this letter ha ha What." The way the writer writes, it looks like a poem rather than a correspondence: short sentences and short lines.
