Description

Fabian, Alan Duane Born 02/25/1933 in Milwaukee Wisconsin. Parents: Floyd Henry Fabian and Emma Vivian (Ninham) Fabian Maternal Grandparents: Anderson Ninham and Matilda (Doxtator) Ninham Paternal Grandparents: William Fabian and Rose (Steel) Fabian His grandfather Ninham got remarried when his grandmother Matilda passed away. He played baseball for the tribe. They all spoke the Oneida language but his mother only spoke it to friends and family not her children. His mother was sent to boarding school. His grandfather is very quiet about his past. His Mother went to Milwaukee and got a job at a hospital. Alan’s mother met her husband at a dance and they got married and moved with his parents. It took 50 years to get the tribal rolls changed. His mother is full blooded Oneida and on the rolls it is marked wrong. He got a job after graduating as a sales rep. He got a business going for himself. He sold different types of chemical products. He has 3 children and 7 grandchildren. He’s married to Patricia M. They got married in 1952 in Milwaukee. He tried to work with the tribe to get different businesses going. Once they got started the B.C turned everything down. He is now retired. He lost his house and business due to bad business issues and such. He’s like to see some kind of program where there’s more housing for the elderly.
