Description

LeMieux, Beatrice Marie (Huff) Born 7/16/1928 Parents: Julia (Metoxen) and Henry Benjamin Huff Maternal grandparent: Jane Metoxen Mother and Father spoke the Oneida Language, but had to stop. We lived with Grandmother on Freedom Road. Grandmother passed away and they had to move. I went to school in Sturgeon Bay. Came back and lived in Green Bay with cousin. Father did a lot of farm work here, then when thy moved to Sturgeon Bay, he worked in the Orchard and fields. We had no running water or electricity. I got married in March of 1950, my husband name is Clyde LeMieux, and we have 10 children, 5 boys and 5 girls. When we moved back to Green Bay from Sturgeon Bay, it’s been 15 years ago. Mother passed away in 1995, and her father passed away before her mother. When we lived with Grandmother, they had a wood stove to cook on, had a big garden with lots of food in it. Christmas, they walked to Church, New Year’s Day, the kids would go Hoyaning. I’m in the process now of making a family tree.
