Description

Webster, Clifford Edward Born 01/02/1943 Parents: Arthur "Oliver" Webster and Josephine (Wheelock) Webster Maternal grandparents: Hiriam Wheelock and Christine Wheelock Paternal grandparents: Albert Webster and Olive Webster He is married to Wanda Hill and they got married in Michigan. They have been married for 40 years. They have 4 children and 7 grandchildren. His mother would work outside the house when Clifford and his brothers got older. She use to do canning and she also did a lot of baking too. When his mother baked she would make a big pan of sweet biscuits and in only 2 days they’d be gone. His mother passed away when he was 15 years old. His father passed away just 9 years ago. Both his mother and father didn’t go to school any further then 6th grade. Being an elder to him means: having more knowledge then the younger people and being able to past thing on to your own children and grandchildren. His parents and grandparents spoke Oneida. His parents never talked to their children in the language though. His advice to the youth today is be proud to be Native American and show respect to the elders because they deserve it.
