Description

Bauman, Deanna Lee Born 08/27/1940 Parents: Harry E. Bauman and Geraldine (Ninham) Bauman Maternal Grandparents: Anderson Ninham Agnes Ninham Paternal Grandparents: John Bauman and Babeta Bauman Mother spoke of when she was younger, she went to school at a Indian Mission School in Gresham. Mother met her husband while playing Baseball; she was on a team for Morgan Siding. Grew up on a farm. Happiest day was when 3 trucks pulled into the yard and picked up all the cows, that’s because she and her brother had to milk the cows all the time. Mother went to school at Morgan Siding and went to High School in Gresham for 2 years. Father went to school in Morgan Siding also, and went to High School in Oshkosh. Mother went to Milwaukee and got a job there. Mother and Father got married; Father and his brother installed Wind Mills. There’s one on the family farm yet. When Mother and Father passed away, someone came and wanted to buy the Wind Mill, but the family said no. That’s like a trade mark on the farm. Deanna went to school at Morgan Siding, and then went to High School on Gresham, graduated from there. After graduation, she went to work on Appleton. Got into a car accident, and moved back home by her mother and father. She was offered a job, as a Secretary, book keeper. She worked with Artley Skenandore Sr., building the homes in Oneida in Site One. Worked as a secretary in Head Start. Got hired on through the Ho-Chung as a Treasure. She worked as a Contract Health Assistance at the Gresham Health Center. She became a Dental Assistance at the Health Center, the Dentist there trained her. Worked at the Health Center for 12 years. She took over Jerry M. Hill’s job. She filled out the Application and sent it in, two weeks later she got a letter asking her to come too Oneida for an interview. She had the interview and offered the job. She started in April of the year. She still lives on the family farm. They did all their big shopping at the stores in Gresham and Shawano. They made their own butter and homemade ice cream. Grandmother made or spun wool.
