Peterson, Effie L. (Archiquette) Born 05/24/1924 in Gresham, WI Parents: Solomon and Effie (Doxtator) Archiquette Paternal grandfather: Nicholas Archiquette Maternal grandparents: Edward and Louise (Smith) Doxtator Her father worked in Construction. He went to school in Hampton, Virginia, he graduated from there. Her mother stayed at home and took care of their family and home. They lived in a log house in Tigerton. Her mother used to make baskets and would sell them. When she has to be 6 years old, she went to Tomah Boarding School. When she was 7, she had to go to another boarding school, she thinks it was Wittenberg. She stayed home from school for 1 year. Then her father got sick and her mother sent her to school in Tigerton. Lather on she graduated from Lutheran Academy on South Dakota. She got a job at Home for Aging, and she had a couple of house cleaning jobs. Then she applies for a Parking Meter Maid and she got the job for 20 years. She has 2 children. She does not know if her mother went to school or how far she went. They did not have any home remedy, but they knew a doctor his name was Jake Smith, he lived in bowler. She does not remember any holidays. Her chores was to do dishes and house cleaning. She does not know if her parents spoke the Oneida language. They never lived in Oneida. Her and her grandma used to go the Sturgeon Bay to pick cherries. She has 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren Her advice to the youth is to have respect to other and stay in school.Recording Type
