Description

Danforth, John L. Born 9/27/1924 Parent: John A. Danforth & Vera (Kebel/Hill?) Danforth Paternal grandparents: John Danforth & Ophelia (King) Danforth Maternal grandparents: Luke Hill & Mary Hill I lived with my grandparents the Hill. My parents got a divorce, so I was moved around a lot mostly in Milwaukee. When I was 6 years old I went Delafield Wisconsin, where my father was working as a mechanic and driver for the President of St. John Military Academy School. That’s, where I started my education, I went through grad school there. I played football and basketball; they would play other Academy school. When I graduate from 6th grade I had a choice to go to a high school near by or St. John Military School. My father got married and they had 3 children. I was the only Indian in that school. I graduated in June 1942. Then I went into the service, I was the youngest Officer in the Military history. I went to St. Norbert’s College in 1948, I was there 3 years. Advice is to stay in school and get the education and be proud of who you are.
