Her father was kind of crippled and walked with a cane. He was a very creative person. He made corn husk dolls and other things. Her father also was in the service during World War II. Her mother was a stay at home mother until their father passed away. Then her mother went to work. Her father fell off from some scaffolding and got hurt really bad. Her parents owned their own land off from Tip Road. Her dad went to Carlisle to school and her mother went to school until 5th grade. Her sister would tell how their father ran away from school. Her parents could speak the Oneida language but they never spoke it in front of the kids. They didn’t want their children to know the language. Josephine has 3 children and is married to Tom Daebler. She use to be married to Ron Skenandore and had 3 children with him but they ended up getting a divorce. She graduated from high school at the age of 17. She worked at the social security office for 30 years. She is now retired. She sings with the Oneida singers. Every holiday they were all at home. It was a little crowded but they were all happy and pleased said Josephine. The casinos have been very beneficial with jobs and other services that they have. We wouldn’t have anything today if it wasn’t for the casinos.Recording Type
