She doesn’t remember her grandparents on her father’s side. Her grandmother use to live off and on with them. Her father went to school in Carlile and her mother went to school but Linda doesn’t know where. Her father worked whenever he was able to. He had asthma so he could only work for a little while. Linda went to school at Bowler Grade School and High School. Her mother moved back to Oneida in 1960. The children didn’t know much of the Oneida language. She went to Cleveland Ohio for a few years then came back to Oneida. She got a job at the feed mill in Green Bay for a few years. She retired from a paper converting place and she worked there for 26 years. They use to get their medications from Jake Smith. Her grandmother lived with them for 3 or 4 years then she passed away. Linda has no children herself but she has nieces and nephews. Her father always said you treat people the way you want to be treated. They lived about 5 miles away from town. Bowler was a nice little town. They had nice little parades that always came through there. She remembers that her father had a car but didn’t have any defroster in it. Her father had a little pouch with salt in it tied to the windshield wipers. That’s how he kept his windshield cleaned from the freezing rain and snow.Recording Type
