Webster, Loretta Raa (House) Born 01/03/1939 Parent: Pearl Marie (Archiquette) & Walter Roy Webster Sr. Maternal grandparents: Levi Archiquette and Lucy (Christjohn) Paternal grandparent: William House Don’t remember her Grandmother on Father’s side. Grandfather contracted his land out for beans & cucumbers. Had a root cellar, where they kept potatoes and stuff. Grandfather House lived with the family. He was retired and very inpatient Grandfather. Spoke broken English and the Oneida language. Grandfather was around 70 years old. Mother was a very Happy Bubbly person. She went to Haskell to School, to the University for Music, she had a beautiful voice. Father lived with his real father when they were young; he went to a Government School in Wittenberg. Lived at the school during the school year. His mother passed away, in child birth, while he was away at school. Found out about Mother’s death, then he went home for the summer, from school. Father finished school at the age of 12 years old. He kept running away from the school. She went to the Oneida Mission School, St. Anne’s School in Mass. 4 years. Graduated and got a Scholarship with Ripon College, graduated with a degree in Biology. Moved to Milwaukee and got a job, then got married. Her children were at the ages of 8 and 10 years old, when she divorced her husband. It was because of her job, that they divorced. In 1974-75, moved back to Oneida, at that time she was with Stan Webster and he had 3 boys. In 1980, she went back to school, into Law School, finishes that and went work at Land Management with the tribe. Been involved with the Tribal Government for years. Hope that when my Grandchildren are older, that there is a stronger Tribal Government Dr. Hill was her IdolRecording Type
