My father died in 1930. I went to a public school. I never went to an Indian school. My father works out in the woods and my mother stay at home taking care of the family and the house work. We went to a Lutheran Church. We always had a tree at Christmas time; we would all help trim the tree. We would get a present’s. We didn’t do much for Hoyon New Years Day, because there weren’t too many people who knew what Hoyon meant where we lived. I left school and got married at 14 or 15 years old. Then we move to Steven Point. I moved back by my mothers’ house, because my husband went in the service. My husband name is Baptist Steven’s, we had 5 children. After the service we moved to Oneida. My parents spoke Oneida language a lot. I had to listen to them and that’s how I learned how to speak the Oneida language. I got a job cleaning houses.
