Description

Beilke, Patricia Mae (Huff) Born 11/18/1940 Parents: Henry Ben Huff and Julia (Metoxen) Huff Paternal Grandparents: Phoebe Huff and Henry Huff Maternal Grandparents: John and Jane Parents spoke the Oneida language; I never learned how to speak the language. There were 10 children in my family. Patricia went to a little school in Allison Bay, then to a different school. I have about 20 Grandchildren, 6 or 7 great grandchildren. No running water or electricity. Used a kerosene lamp for lighting and wood stove for heat and cooking. Mother did a lot of baking and canning. She would make corn soup and it took 2 days to do that. I moved to Oneida in 1998 and worked for the Tribe since 1996, I worked at the Casino. Then I worked part time as a cook at the Oneida Methodist Church. For the Young Stay in school and get a good education, so you can get a good job. Don’t drink or smoke, it gets you in trouble. I got married in 1958, had 6 children and lived in Sturgeon Bay. My husband passed away in 1996 from a severe Heart Attack.
