Description

Jourdan, Randall Emerson, Sr. Born 06/13/1944 Parents: Vernon Jourdan and Katherine (Metoxen) Jourdan Maternal grandparents: William B. Metoxen and Mary Metoxen Paternal grandmother: Elsie (Webster) Metoxen His father worked for M.R.K. Construction. Randall went to school in Chicago Corners until 6th grade than went to Seymour Grade School and to Seymour High School. In high school he played baseball and football. He was in the service and when he got out the service he went to work for the tribe. He worked with them for 23 years. He has been married 2 times. When he was hurt and bleeding his mom would take spider webs and wrap them on his cut and it would stop the bleeding. Both his mother and father could speak the Oneida language but they never pushed it onto the children to learn. Both his parents also did homemade remedies with herbs and stuff. On weekends Randall would go spend time with his grandparents. He never knew his father could speak the Oneida language until they had company over and his dad started speaking the Oneida language. Both his parents had health issues and had the Meals on Wheels delivered to them. And his father wasn’t the one to take handouts. His father was a very proud man and wouldn’t take nothing unless he paid for it.
