Two page correspondence written on a single sheet of folded paper. The first page has letterhead "Department of Greek Language and Literature, Hamilton College, Clinton, Oneida County, N.Y." with a large circular stamp from Hamilton College with a man with wings helping a smaller man read. The letter is addressed "Oct. 13, 1893, Mr. Syman P. Fowler, My Dear Sir" and is written a thick black ink. It talks about the desecration of graves in NY by "whites". the second page is written sideways along the paper (if you unfolded it, the writing is on the same side of the single sheet of paper). It talks about Samson Occum's grave being on a farm nearby and wants to confirm this information. Nothing is written on the opposite side of the paper.Collection
