Single sheet of paper with a poem or lyrics written on both the front and back in black ink. The poem is titled "Hancock" and the second line reads "Air--Star Spangled Banner". At the bottom of the back page it reads "Written on the occasion of Major Gen. Hancock taking leave of the 2nd A.C." There is an indent stamp in the top left corner of the capitol building and "CONGRESS" above it.
There is writing in pencil at the bottom of the back page that is illegible and not part of the original archive. The paper seems to have been torn from another piece along the left edge. It was folded in half and in thirds. The back is the dirtiest along the top creases. There is a dark stain along the top edge closer to the right corner.Collection
