This is a color video recording of three different historic topics: #1:: “Three decades as an Orinda watcher”, speaker Jane Putnam reporter and editor of the Contra Costa Sun and the Orinda Sun since 1961 shares her memories covering Orinda's news. Her February 7th 1990 talk mentions many topics including Orinda's Incorporation and the addition of BART in the 1970s. Ms. Putnam's presentation ends at 50:15. #2:: “Historic and modern Orinda”, speaker Sue Graf, winner of the 1994 William Penn Mott, Jr. Environmental Award, presents a talk and slide show including historic photos of Orinda along with a 1930s movie of an Orinda parade and horse show. Ms Graf's presentation starts at 50:27 and ends at 1:30:36. #3:: "Orinda old timers - recollections", Orinda Historical Society members discuss Orinda history at Wagner Ranch Nature Area on June 3rd 1990 with early Orinda residents including Ned de Laveaga, Louis Stein and Frank Wagner. Mr. de Laveaga talks about Orinda's early water district and water rights that his father E. I. de Laveaga dealt with when building Orinda subdivisions in the 1920s and 1930s.
