The i far There evening will ba on rail travel in 1961® The business portion of the masting will start promptly Last month in this oolumn t-j® asked for help from all of our members<>0000 that help new? showed up0 In order to open and show our fine locomotive and open observation, plat- fora ©ar it takes a number of members0 Two ©r throe people can’t open up and staff ths exhibits-all day, they need' a break now and then, its even nice to get out to oat, one does gat hungry if left in th® ©each or engine for six to eight hours6 Thia year, th© fair had bigger num- bars of visitors than ©ver before, ths a©©i©ty had smaller numbers of members staffing ths exhibit than ©ver beforeo On th© othsr hand, larger crowds earn© through the engine and ©oach, This is a sad situation becaus® a small devoted group of ths membership did all of the work this y©a?o The sama story holds true prior bo th© fair, a certain num bar of workers did ths painting and all of th® preparations for the fair, many were th© sum® poor soles that did all the long hours during th© ten days the fairo Th© strsetear was opened only a times because of ths lack of hslpo society will have to organise in a better manner for the 19&S fair, 1 is just no reason why th© load aannot b® spread out to ©over a lot of members rather than a small group working long hours at a thing that la supposed t© be a hobby and something to enjoy. The fair is over for 1961 but there will bo another one next year, now is th© time to start thinking about help ing your fellow members in maintenance and spscial showings of th® exhibit, Next year we hope t© have all of th® local’ members got a little tie© in and in that way it is fun for allo There is a great interest by the public to see cur exhibit, members should be vary proud to show it. Regular monthly features of a very nio© raffle prise, refreshments ssrvsd by the Swain©0s and ample time for a visit with you? fallow members.
