Description

SD&AE steam locomotive #1 an ALCO built in 1909 at 22nd and Commercial in San Diego, CA. Engineer R. L. Niell. Built by Alco Pittsburgh serial number 46689, built October 1909, Class S-23, wheels 0-6-0, weight 107000 lbs., weight on drivers ? lbs., boiler pressure 175 lbs., driver diameter 51", cylinder bore and stroke 18" x 24", tractive effort 22700 lbs. Purchased new during construction. Scrapped in Los Angeles October 12, 1951.
