Description

SD&AE Steam locomotive #105 in the yards at El Centro, CA. Steam locomotive #2771 in the background. Former fireman Richard Dick said that the date of this photo is 1940's (41 or 42). His reasoning: 1. Smoke deflector. 2. Painted smokebox. 3. Nathan headlight with shield. Steam locomotive #105. Builder Southern Pacific Los Angeles shops, serial number 1, built December 1917, class C-10, wheels 2-8-0, weight 217800 lbs., weight on drivers 193700 lbs., boiler preasure 210 lbs., drivers 57", Cylinder bore and stroke 22" x 30", Tractive effort 45470 lbs. Ex Southern Pacific #2843. Acquired March 12, 1921. As built it had 43300 lbs tractive force, and 200 lbs boiler pressure. Scrapped February 6, 1957.
