Stone carvingDescription
Hand-carved translucent soft stone disk, pierced and scratch-carved; carving identical on either side. Oriental-looking carved stone disk has a pierced design of two stylized hummingbirds, each at a flower, with scratch-carved detail on plumage, eyes, flower and foliage. Set in but not attached to simple wooden base (2-49-13). Carving style suggests date of 1920's-30's according to Pat Berger, Asian Art Museum. Base probably not original.
