Patrick Henry Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, To all to whom, these presents, shall come Greeting Know ye, by Virtue and in consideration of part of a Land Office Treasury Warrant Number 17.287. issued the 23rd. Day of June, 1783. thus is granted by the said Commonwealth unto Thomas Buffington assee. [assignee] of John Caldwell who assee. of Simon Pirce, a certain Track or parcel of Land containing Four hundred acres by Survey bearing date the 6th day of September, 1785. lying and being in the County of Ohio, on the Waters of Fish Creek, and is bounded as followeth to wit, “Beginning at a sugar tree corner to his actual – Settlements thence N.45°. E300 poles to a white Oak, thence S5°. W375 poles, to a beech, thence S63°. W268 poles, to a black standing in his line, thence with his line, N.25°. E72 poles to a black oak, thence N.7°. E218 poles to the beginning —
With its appurtenances To have and to hold, the said Tract or parcel of Land with its appurtenances, to the said Thomas Buffington and his heirs for ever, In writing, whereof the said Patrick Henry Esq. Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia hath hereunto set his hand and caused the lesser seal of the said [loss of document] [___] the 25th of [___] October in the [___] and his heirs for ever [___] whereof the said Patrick Henry Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, hath hereunto set his hand and caused the lesser seal of the said Commonwealth to be affixed at Richmond on the 25th. day of October in the Year of our Lord 1786. and of the Commonwealth the eleventh. —
