Notes

This photograph is one of a set of images depicting the Red Hill property during its principal restoration by the Patrick Henry Memorial Foundation in 1961. This particular photo was taken of Harrison's Cabin and the icehouse during construction in June 1961. The cabin was restored using approximately 25% of its logs from the original cabin built in the 19th century. The other 75% seem to have been taken from a barn. The pile of stone was most likely used for the chimney of the cabin. This photograph was found in the James S. Easley Papers. Mr. Easley helped to establish the Patrick Henry Memorial Foundation and served as its first president from 1944 to his death in 1965.
