Color photograph, square. Image of the rear of the Harrison's Cabin and Slave Privy under construction at Red Hill. A mostly completed, square log cabin sits in the center, in front of a small, rectangular log building with a slanted roof. Plastic sheets attached to planks of wood can be seen covering the side window, parted to the side of the back door, and sitting above the window in the loft. A scaffold sits beside the cabin.
Trees and hedges sit behind the cabin and slave privy. A large white building is on the right side of the photo behind a tree.
A pile of reddish dirt sits in the left of the foreground, surrounded by a mowed grassy field. A blue sky with mid to low level clouds that sit behind the cabin is in the background.
The back of the photo has a single sentence written in blue ink.

Notes
This photograph is one of a set of images depicting the Red Hill property during its principal restoration by the Patrick Henry Memorial Foundation in 1961.
This particular photo was taken of Harrison's Cabin and the Slave Privy during construction in September 1961. The cabin was restored using approximately 25% of its logs from the original cabin built in the 19th century. The other 75% seem to have been taken from a barn.
The Slave Privy was later demolished due to its historical inaccuracy.
This photograph was found in the James S. Easley Papers. Mr. Easley helped to establish the Patrick Henry Memorial Foundation and served as its first president from 1944 to his death in 1965.
