The PHMF Golden Anniversary Celebration was held on Thursday, October 27, 1994 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Foundation's establishment. The PHMF was incorporated on October 27, 1944. The event was held at the Jefferson Hotel in Richmond, Virginia. Michael Owen Wells gave a speech as Governor Patrick Henry as part of the evening's events. Patricia "Pat" Atherholt (1933–2023) was a guest at the dinner. She served for a time as the Director of the St. John’s Church Foundation, the non-profit organization that oversees the historical interpretation and preservation of St. John's Church. On March 23, 1775, St. John's Church was the site where Patrick Henry delivered his "Give me liberty" speech. Mrs. Atherholt died on April 20, 2023 and is buried at St. John's Church. Staff found this photograph in the existing files of Red Hill's collection and accessioned it on May 30, 2024, due to its importance to PHMF's institutional history.
