The PHMF Golden Anniversary Celebration was held on Thursday, October 27, 1994, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Foundation's establishment. The PHMF was incorporated on October 27, 1944. The event was held at the Jefferson Hotel in Richmond, Virginia. Virginia M. S. English (1909–2006) was a PHMF trustee during this event. Dr. Bruce English (1921–2008) was her husband. Mrs. English was an avid historian and supporter of Red Hill. Mark Couvillon was a long-time Patrick Henry scholar, writing such books as "Patrick Henry's Virginia" (2001), "The Demosthenes of His Age" (2013), and "In Sickness and in Health" (2021). Staff found this photograph in the existing files of Red Hill's collection and accessioned it on May 30, 2024, due to its importance to PHMF's institutional history.
