The PHMF Golden Anniversary Celebration was held on Thursday, October 27, 1994, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Foundation's establishment. The PHMF was incorporated on October 27, 1944. The event was held at the Jefferson Hotel in Richmond, Virginia. Virginia Babcock (1920–2010) was a Patrick Henry Memorial Foundation Auxiliary member and an organizing member of the Red Hill Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was also the sister of Charles T. Moses, Jr. (1922–2002), who also attended the event. Moses Jr. served as mayor of Appomattox from 1958 to 1960 and as a member of the advisory board of the Patrick Henry Boys' and Girls' Plantation. Staff found this photograph in the existing files of Red Hill's collection and accessioned it on May 30, 2024, due to its importance to PHMF's institutional history.
