Provenance

Notes

This land grant was given to Patrick Henry by Virginia Governor Benjamin Harrison V in 1782. It awarded Henry 2,100 acres in Princess Anne County, Virginia. This grant was auctioned in Stan V. Henkel's sale of Henry relics in 1910. Henkels possibly purchased it previously from Lucy Gray Henry Harrison (1857-1944), a great-granddaughter to Patrick Henry. Charles L. Hamilton bought the grant at this sale along with several other Henry papers. It was donated by his heirs to the Patrick Henry Memorial Foundation in 1959.
