Provenance

Notes

The original accession file does not contain a detailed provenance. The fork is supposed to have belonged to Patrick Henry. It would have been used by an enslaved cook in the kitchen of one of Henry's properties, possibly including Red Hill. It was donated by Mary S. Walker McDarment on March 18, 1950.
