Notes

This is an excellent example of an 18th-century candlestand. It was almost certainly made in Eastern Virginia in the mid-to-late 18th century, possibly locally in Albemarle County. Sandra Wright Crowther donated the candlestand to the Patrick Henry Memorial Foundation in January 2007.
