Description

A small, olive-drab fiberglass river boat with mounted armaments on the front and rear and a green tarp over the steering compartment. The PBR is number 105 and carries the name 'Elaine.'

Context

PBRs served in the Brown Water Navy during the Vietnam War as the small boats were perfect for patrolling rivers and deltas. This Mark I PBR arrived at Patriots Point in 1989, and is on loan from Naval History and Heritage Command, Washington D.C.
