Context

Captain Jocko Clark served as the first commanding officer aboard the USS Yorktown (CV-10) from April 1943 to February of 1944. Artist John Furlow created a series of caricatures during his time as radarman on the USS Yorktown (CV-10). Furlow completed a number of portraits of the Captain. He became a graphic artist after the war and notably designed Duke University's Blue Devil.
