A typed set of meeting minutes dated January 26, 1966. The meeting took place on January 25, 1966 and was held in the office of Rear Admiral Julian Becton with Captains Frank Manson and Paul Smith. The men discussed plans for a reunion of the USS Laffey (DD-724) crewmembers to take place on April 16, 1966, in Norfolk, Virgina.

Context

From the Collection of Frank Manson. Lt. Frank Manson was a Communications Officer aboard the USS Laffey (DD-724) from 1944-1945, as well as the press liaison for Commander Becton during the ship's Shipyard Worker Retention Tour. All officers aboard the USS Laffey during World War II, Frank Manson, Julian Becton, and Paul Smith were instrumental in starting the first USS Laffey reunion and later the USS Laffey Association.
