M725 AmbulanceDescription
An olive drab Jeep ambulance with white stars on either door, "ambulance" with two International Red Crosses above the front window, and International Red Crosses on both sides and across the back double doors. The M725 ambulance has four stretchers installed in the back of the vehicle.
A variant of the Kaiser Jeep M715, development on the M725 began in 1965. It has a 6-cylinder Jeep tornado engine, runs on gasoline, and tops out at 55 miles per hour.Context
The M725 ambulance was used during the Vietnam War, but was considered underpowered, overconsumed oil, and generally hard to maintain. It was quickly replaced by the US Military with the Dodge M880 series of vehicles.
This vehicle arrived at Patriots Point in 2014 and was donated by the Marietta Museum of History, Marietta, Georgia.Collection
