This letter authorized Pierre Grace to travel from Hawaii back to the West Coast of the United States of America. This letter also references the Commander in Chief of the United States Pacific Fleet, Chester Nimitz.

Context

Lieutenant Pierre Grace served with Air Group Three aboard the USS Yorktown (CV-10) during World War II. Air Group Three was attached to the USS Yorktown from October 24, 1944, through March 1945. Grace was the Air Group's historian.
