Flown by destroyer USS Laffey (DD-724) during the Normandy landings at D-Day on June 6th, 1944. The Laffey escorted tugs, landing craft, and gunboats from Plymouth, England, and arrived at Utah beach at dawn on D-Day, 6 June 1944. The Laffey then took up screening duties until its return to England on June 22nd.
