M151 Jeep

Description

An olive drab, open top jeep with a hitch on the front and a spare tire attached to the rear. White stars are on both the sides and hood and markings for 'military police' under the windshield. The M151 is a 4-wheel drive vehicle with an integrated body and independent suspension. The 4-cylinder engine maxes out at 65 miles per hour.

Context

First put into service by the United States during the Vietnam War, the M151 continued to play an active role until the introduction of the Humvee in the 1980s. This jeep arrived at Patriots Point prior to 2014.
