Worn in conjunction with the custom-made helmet in this collection, the speaker assembly attached in the place of the oxygen supply assembly to the helmet. The customized speaker assembly was made by base engineers at the request of Bauman's flight group.Context
Albert Bauman served in the Marine Corps for nine years as an attack aviation pilot with one combat tour in Vietnam flying the A-4 Skyhawk off the USS Hornet (CVS-12).He would later serve as LSO and Instructor pilot for carrier training missions off the USS Lexington (AVT-16).Collection
