B/W photo of a barbecue at the home of Doug and Nan Morrell on Mere Point, Brunswick, ME. The three men at left are, l to r, Al Morrell; Ron Crone, Bowdoin College Dining Chief; and Jim Black, of Black's Hardware. Doug Morrell is attending the grill. The barbecue was for the 1972 U.S. Men's Olympic Track Team, who were at Bowdoin College for training before going to the Munich Olympics. Track Team members included Steve Prefontaine (at far right) and Dave Wottle, among others. Prefontaine, who died in an automobile accident, in 1975, held records in seven different distance track events. 7/1972.
