A B/W photographic view of pieces of the cast iron kettles used at the Salt Works.
On the left can be seen pieces of the huge cast iron kettles in which salt water was boiled. The mortar is still firmly embedded on them. On the right are two bricks fused together by intense heat. A crew of men and oxen were employed to cut and haul fuel for the furnace.Collection
