A B/W photograph of Franklin C. Webb elected president of the First National Bank. Franklin C. Webb was a prominent Brunswick, Maine merchant and banker. He was born in Brunswick 23 Oct 1840, the son of Cynthia Coburn and Samuel Webb. A graduate of Brunswick High School and Farmington Normal School, for more than 40 years he was in the grocery business and was a director of the First National Bank, subsequently its president. He also served as selectman and as a representative to the Legislature from Brunswick. He was a thirty-second degree Mason and a member of the Knights of Pythias. In September 1875 he married Lizzie Randall of Harpswell. He died in West Lafayette, Indiana, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ethel Stone, and is buried in Brunswick's Pine Grove Cemetery. In addition to his daughter, he left a son, Dr. Harold Webb of Arlington, MA, five grandchildren and one great grandchild. Photo not dated. Source: Brunswick Record, 10 May 1934
