A B/W photograph of a group dressed to recreate 1739 for the Brunswick Bicentennial. Dated 1939. From the Brunswick Record 1939 Capt. and Mrs. Wm. Harding went to Boston in antique garb to extend a personal invitation to Mass. Gov. Leverett Saltonstall to attend the celebration. Their appearance in Boston drew much attention to the Celebration and to Brunswick - The trip was regarded in Boston as a highly successful publicity stunt. Here the Hardings are gathered on their lawn.
