Description

Aaron Dunning built this house for himself at 76 Federal Street in Brunswick in 1807. Author Nathaniel Hawthorne lived in it during his junior year at Bowdoin College (1823-24). Joseph McKeen, treasurer of Bowdoin for 30 years, owned the house. This black and white photo was published in The Times Record in Brunswick, Maine, on 12/2/1985.
