A black and white photo of Arthur Clayton working in his garden on Basin Point Road in Harpswell, was published in The Times Record in Brunswick, Maine, on 7/11/1977. Clayton, a retired boat builder and Bath Iron Works employee, was a pioneer in organic gardening.
The Harpswell Garden Club established a horticultural scholarship in his name at the University of Maine.
