B/W Photo of the railroad station in Brunswick around 1855. Taken from Maine Street. Information on the back states: "Finished in 1855, 160 ft by 100 ft wide including two wings. Main body 60 ft wide by 52 ft high. Three tracks ran through it. Burned 1857." Wheeler's History mentions the Portland Lewiston Railroad Station in Brunswick burned in 1857. The station in the photo, however, was still standing, minus a wing, in 1894 & was decorated for Bowdoin's Centennial.Lexicon
