Description

A B/W modern photographic view of the Captain Isaac Snow House. Location: Corner of Stover Point Road and Route 123, So. Harpswell. When Johnson Harmon Stover married Susanna Curtis, they lived in an old blockhouse on her father's land. Their son, Capt; Abijah built the main house after moving the blockhouse back a few feet. The blockhouse was built about 1759 with diagonal timbers; the main house 1854-1859. The northeast bedroom was fi;nished with cypress paneling. It was completed in time for Abijah C. Stover Jr. to be born there.
