Brunswick police matron from 1916-1936. Added Topsham to her beat in 1919. Over the course of her career, her salary increased from $26 per year to $400.
She was a "one woman welfare office" involved in "collecting and distributing clothing from women's groups, donations from business and professional persons, vegetables and fruit from local farmers, and flannel and clothing from the Red Cross." (Source: A Women's History Walking Trail, 1999)
