A portrait of Rev. George Eliashib Adams, who was the minister of the 1st Parish Congregationalist Church in Brunswick, Maine, for 40 years. He was born October 27, 1801 and died December 25, 1875 in East Orange, N.J. NJ and was buried in Pine Grove Cemetery, Brunswick, Maine. Rev. Adams was also Frances "Fanny" Caroline Adams Chamberlain's adopted father. Fanny sang and played music in her father's Church and she met Joshua L. Chamberlain there when he was a Bowdoin College student in 1849. Photo not dated.
