Description

A black and white photograph of Mary Alice Treworgy's oil painting entitled, "Mrs. Wilson's Barn." Treworgy originally was born in Baltimore, MD, but lived much of her life in Brunswick. ME after graduating from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design with a BFA in Advertising and Product Design. Later, she would take painting classes at Bowdoin College, University of Southern Maine, and the Maine College of Art. The painting is a purely architectural presentation of the house and barn that reduces the picture to subtle geometrical values while flattening the picture plane. A car and two bushes are shown in front of the house. The ground seems to be covered lightly by a layer of snow. Dated 1992.
